Barbara Luecke has worked and collaborated with artists for over 20 years. By producing and directing projects she brings art experiences to the public realm through permanent and temporary installations, and through community involving celebrations.
In order to create site appropriate successful projects, her work requires bringing widely varied, multi-disciplinary viewpoints together: architects, engineers, managers, civic leaders, business owners, community members and artists.
She has worked extensively with public agencies, as well as private developers, in overseeing public art projects integrated into large construction projects. She was a long-time staff member of the pioneering 4Culture in Seattle prior to her current post of managing the art program for Sound Transit, the agency bringing regional transit to the central Puget Sound area.
